Not everyone in this organizaton had a computer, and financial resources were limited. Movable Type solved the problems of access, because anyone with the the log in info can access the site from any computer in order to update it (because it is a server-side app). Additionally, MT is free to non-profit organizations with an all-volunteer workforce (but you have to ask). The webmaster dived right into learning Movable Type, and has been very active in updating the site. Site features Flickr photos, an open-source calendar that anyone viewing can add to, and a blog. Original site design by BP Consultants, with exception of logo design by Duane Shima.

Owner Stephen Dyson wanted to leverage Web. 2.0 technology to build a showcase site and online community. Site was designed elsewhere, and we were sent the CSS file and HTML home page template. This fomed the basis for building out an entire site, and two blogs, using Movable Type.
  • Sam Kutz
    skutzsite.jpg
Designed and launched (Movable Type) for silversmith and eclectic artist Sam Kutz (yes, my brother). A work-in-progress meant to hint at Sam's OCD motto for living (order, chaos and diversity). Incorporates a photoblog showcasing Sam's work.
  • Silicon Valley Watcher

Conceived and designed for Tom Foremski, former Financial Times journalist. Launched in Feb. 2004. Dida's first Movable Type project (including installation). Site went on to win numerous awards, including being named one of the most influential blogs in the US by Bacon's (a media watch service provided to PR professionals). Also a CNET Top 100 blog, and winner of 2005 Best Bay Area Blog.
  • On The Record

Wired News reporter Ann Harrison wanted to give her existing blog a starker look while also making it more usable. Designed and built with Movable Type; incorporates non-javascript pop-ups. We also helped her set up a Google AdSense campaign.
  • Monterey Sailing

The old site needed a facelift in order to make it fresher, and easier to read and navigate. Original site was built using tables, and was updated to use CSS (created in Dreamweaver MX). Word Press blog also created for owner Jack Yelverton's musings.
