Artificial Kelp Reef Monitoring Project Job

Hi All,
We are looking for a few experienced divers to join the SONGS artificial kelp reef mitigation monitoring team in Carlsbad, California. This summer, we will be hiring a few candidates to work on a full-time, but temporary limited (~6 months or so) basis. Our ideal candidate would be an experienced diver with sharp attention to detail, and the ability to work meticulously with large amounts of data. Job Title: Laboratory Assistant III
Job Duration: Full-time, limited (~6 months)
Job Start: Mid-May 2009
Compensation: $2794/mo

Summary of Job Duties
Under general supervision, provides field and laboratory support for
a long-term study investigating the performance of an artificial reef
used to mitigate the loss of kelp forest habitat caused by the
operation of the San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station.

Requirements
- Current American Academy of Underwater Sciences (AAUS) Research
Diving certification
- NITROX certification from accredited certifying agency
- Familiarity with taxonomy and classification of Pacific coast
marine invertebrates and algae.
