Florida Keys AAUS Diver Needed: Stipend Offered

From the Coral-List. Contact biorss @ langate.gsu.edu if interested

Hello Coral-list,
I am in need of an AAUS status diver with NITROX certification to assist in a coral survey project from July 19 to July 28 2007 in the Florida Keys. The project is an assessment of coral population dynamics in protected and unprotected sites in the lower and upper Keys that has been ongoing since 1998. The other Principal Investigators are Rich Aronson, John Ogden and Brian Keller. The project is funded by NOAA and a prospective divers must be able to provide a AAUS reciprocity letter to the Sanctuary.

Ideally I need a diver capable to setting up and recording video transects. But I would consider adding someone who is very familiar with coral identification to assist in juvenile coral surveys in permanent quadrats at our sites.
I am hoping to recruit a diver from the south Florida area who can transport themselves down to the Keys. All transportation expenses will be covered along with food and lodging. I can provide a modest stipend as well
If you are interested please contact me at biorss @ langate.gsu.edu and send a short summary of your dive qualifications and research experience, along with contact info for a science diving referee. Robbie Smith Georgia State University
